Baba ka Dhaba Daily Sales Have Come Down
“Because of the continuing Covid lockdown, our daily footfall has decreased, and our daily sales have decreased from Rs 3,500 before the lockdown to Rs 1,000 presently. The income is not sufficient for o ur family. We have eight-person in our family “HT spoke with Prasad.
Three CCTV cameras whose live footage can be accessed on Prasad’s smartphone, a fancy board that displays the dhaba’s name, the year it was formed, portraits of the elderly couple, and two cell numbers adorn the old dhaba. The menu for lunch and dinner mentions Indian and Chinese cuisine, although they only serve Indian food for lunch. Before dinner, the store shuts.
Baba ka Dhaba Investment and Earning
They invested Rs 5 lakh into the restaurant and recruited three people. The monthly budget was roughly Rs 1 lakh, which covered rent, three employees’ salary, power and water bills, and food supplies. However, the restaurant’s average monthly revenue never exceeded Rs 40,000.
The eatery closed in December of last year, just three months after it opened. The couple only made Rs 36,000 from the sale of seats, kitchenware, and cooking equipments, out of a total expenditure of Rs 5 lakh.
Kanta Prasad Blamed Social Worker Tushant Adlakha
Tushant Adlakha, a social worker who had supported and assisted Kanta Prasad in opening the new eatery in a rented space, was criticized by Kanta Prasad. “He stated he’d make it a success,” Prasad claimed, “but he never gave the restaurant enough time.”
Tushant Adlakha Blamed Kanta Prasad’s Two Sons
Tushant Adlakha blamed the restaurant’s collapse on Kanta Prasad’s two sons, claiming that they never stayed at the counter. He also stated that there were sufficient orders for home delivery, but that they were not delivered.
How did Baba Ka Dhaba Go Viral?
Gaurav Wasan, a food blogger, visited Baba Ka Dhaba in October and shared a video on his Instagram account. Kanta Prasad broke down in tears as he described the hardships he encountered running the cafe in the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak in the short video.
Vasundhara Tankha Sharma quickly shared the video and encouraged people to visit Baba Ka Dhaba.
