March 2014, he quit the Punjab People’s Party and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. In the Indian General Election of 2014, he ran as their candidate from the Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency. He was appointed to the Joint Committee on Profit Organizations and the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. In the 2012 Punjab Assembly Elections, he ran for the Lehragaga assembly constituency but lost. He was elected to the Punjab People’s Assembly.
