Bhawna Jat Biography
Bhawana Jat is a race walker from India who was born on March 1, 1996. She is from Kabra village in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district.
Bhawana began racewalking at the age of 13 after being inspired by her physical education teacher. Bhawana’s physical therapy teacher encouraged her to attempt jogging after noticing her athletic build. Bhawana had to drop out of school since her family couldn’t afford it. Her family and she resided in a mud hut. Her family was only able to afford two meals per day.
Bhawana used to get up at 3 a.m. and go for a run on a muddy track near her mud hut. Her village neighbors would frequently dissuade and tempt her into running since they didn’t want to see her in shorts. Village elders advised her to stay at home and help with domestic tasks.
She works for the Indian Railways in Howrah, West Bengal, as a ticket collector.
