While the overall team appears to be highly capable for the T20 World Cup, there are a few aspects that are surprising or even alarming. So, here is a detailed breakdown analysis of Team India’s T20 World Cup team for 2021. We’ll break down the squad into numerous categories for a better understanding.

Openers

  • Ishan Kishan
  • KL Rahul (WK)
  • Rohit Sharma

In the opening department, Team India has chosen the well-known combo of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma as their first-choice openers. Ishan Kishan, the offensive wicket-keeper batsman, is assisting these two. The Jharkhand-born keeper has been honored for his outstanding performances for Team India and in the IPL 2020.

Middle-order

  • Rishabh Pant (WK)
  • Suryakumar Yadav
  • Virat Kohli (C)

Captain Virat Kohli, the energetic Suryakumar Yadav, and Team India’s first-choice wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant make up the middle order. There were no shocks in the fact that all three were in the running for a spot. In fact, all three have a good chance of reaching the top 11.

All-rounders

  • Axar Patel
  • Hardik Pandya
  • Ravindra Jadeja

The all-rounder category, like the opening and middle-order categories, sees a stunning surprise. While Hardik and Jadeja are clearly Team India’s first-choice all-rounders, Axar Patel’s inclusion is surprising. Axar might not have made it if Washington Sundar, the all-rounder, had been present.

Spinners

  • Rahul Chahar
  • Ravichandran Ashwin
  • Varun Chakravarthy

Rahul has been a standout for Team India and the Mumbai Indians, so Ashwin’s inclusion seems surprising. Ashwin hasn’t played a T20 match in almost four years. In the last three to four years, he has also struggled in the IPL. In the absence of Washington Sundar, Ashwin’s inclusion in the squad is based solely on the need for an off-spinner. However, the inclusion of the mystery spinner, Varun Chakravarthy, in the spinner category is fantastic news. The youngster has been outstanding in the IPL and might be Team India’s major boon at the T20 World Cup. Varun Chakravarthy, based on the team, is definitely one of the players who might make the final playing 11.

Pacers

  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar
  • Jasprit Bumrah
  • Mohammed Shami

The pace department appears to be the only place where things are going as planned. The seasoned trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Mohammed Shami has been chosen by Team India. If the pitch is favorable to pace bowling, Team India would be urged to use all three bowlers in the lineup. So far, there have been no complaints about the pace.

Team India also has backup reserves in the form of Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar, which is fantastic. Both Shardul and Deepak have been in fantastic form with the ball in T20 cricket and are excellent batters in the lower order. If an extra pacer is required, one of Deepak or Shardul will step in.

Additional 3 Reserves

  • Deepak Chahar
  • Sharduk Thakur
  • Shreyas Iyer

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally announced Team India’s official squad for the T20 World Cup 2021, which will start on 17 October in the United Arab Emirates. The final of the tournament will be played on November 15.
