Stray Animal Rescue: Peepal Farm’s main objective is to rescue injured animals that are in pain. They bring injured animals to their clinic and recovery center and provide them a safe place to heal. Along with this, Peepal Farm also runs a “sterilization program” to control the stray dog population and a “treat on street” program for animals not brought into the recovery center.
Organic Farm: As Peepal Farm was founded to reduce physical pain, they experimented to learn the practice of growing food with the least impact. Hence, this experiment developed into the project of Organic Farm. Peepal Farm can grow its own food in good quantity.
Social Enterprise: Peepal Farm runs two social enterprises. One is Products in which Peepal Farm only sells products grown or procured by them on-farm or prepared in their kitchen. Peepal Farm only sells vegan products and spreads their message of veganism to more individuals out there. Another one is Peepal Farm Stay that offers individuals the opportunity to experience farm life that gives non-vegans the taste of vegan life. By Bus: If you are visiting Peepal Farm by bus, take a bus towards Chari from the Dharamshala bus stand. Then get off the bus at the Dhanotu bus stop next to the Sheetla Mata temple. Then take the first road away from the big cliff overlooking the river. Continue to head towards the road and look for a gate with Hanuman Ji painted on it or you can ask anyone there for the “animal place”. Then you are there!
By Plane: If you are planning to visit by plane, land at Gaggal airport and take a bus or taxi to Chambi Pul. At the intersection in Chambi, turn right and do not cross the bridge. If you are taking the bus, get off at Chambi and take a bus towards Chari from Chambi. Then, turn right when you see the Dhanotu bus stop to the left that is next to the Sheetla Mata temple. Continue to head towards the road and look for a gate with Hanuman Ji painted on it or you can ask anyone there for the “animal place”. Then you are there!
By Train: If you are visiting Peepal Farm by train, get off at Pathankot station and take a bus or taxi to Dharamshala.
