Andhra Pradesh’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy is a well-known shutler. He has been playing badminton since he was a child. At the P. Gopichand academy in Hyderabad, he began to play badminton. His skill set was suited to doubles and he was suitably trained. He began his doubles career by teaming up with another teenager, Chirag Shetty. The duo made headlines from the junior circuits onwards, and their success continued at the highest level.
After the BWF announced elite tournaments in 2017, the duo made an immediate impact, winning Gold at the Super 100 series in Hyderabad for their first BWF title. The pair competed at the Common Wealth Gold Coast, where they won a silver medal. Since then, they’ve reached new heights, and in August 2019, they made headlines when they won the Thailand Open, becoming the first Indian Men’s Doubles duo to win a Super 500 series. He also competes in mixed doubles.
